Summer of 1967

Summer of 1967

Winterwell is now fully booked and off sale. There are no tickets available on the door.

Step back to the summer of 1967, adorn your hair with flowers and unleash your inner free-lovin’ hippy. This year’s Winterwell transports you to a psychedelic, kaleidoscopic world in which the 60s are still in full and colourful swing. Be the first to come frolic with us in our brand new location: Yarnton Manor, a stunning Jacobean mansion close to historic Oxford.

Spend a languid August afternoon with a picnic hamper or Wild Dining on Yarnton Manor’s beautifully manicured lawns, entertained by eccentric Winterwellian pastimes such as ferret racing, hawk displays, cricket and croquet or pop up opera.

In the Summer of Love Garden, discover massage, life drawing, face painting and flower crown making. Relax and listen to DJs and bongos in bohemian Bell tents scattered with rugs and cushions.

Live bands such as The Dreaming Spires, The Blondettes and The Parades entertain on the manor lawn Tipi stage till dusk, and as the sun goes down, Winterwell’s finest DJs such as Scratch Perverts, Horse Meat Disco and the Menendez Brothers will accompany you late into the night.

Sip a dry martini in the cocktail bar and try your luck at the Casino with Black Jack and Roulette à la Casino Royale (which, incidentally, first came out on film in 1967) or listen to spooky storytelling with Bill Spectre.

Fireworks light up the night sky and the grounds will be illuminated with lanterns, flaming torches and projections, transforming the barn into a psychedelic den from the swinging 60s to dance the night away.
