A TOWN CALLED WINTERWELL

Folks, times is tougher than a neighbourhood fox. We’re grinding our bones to toothtpicks just to pay the Oyster or make it a double. It just ain’t right, we need a new beginning….

There’s talk of a town just 2hrs ride from here towards the Western territory. In the Valley of Ampney Down. It’s a new kind of Town, A Town called Winterwell. I hear the DJ’s drop beats like we drop calls and the drinks flow like commuters’ tears. Every Church is a saloon and every saloon a church, the preachers preach from their pulpits and the blackhearted rot in their cells. There’s fancy dancing, fancy drinking and miracle remedies for all your ailments when it all get’s too much.  I even heard prospectors talk of the surrounding hills  being lined up with gold.

This year we have Moshi Moshi records (home of Hot Chip, Florence of the Machines etc) hosting our main stage on Saturday, The Sizzle Suite returning with their tent of tricks and Will Rees from ‘Pull Up the Roots’ curating the rest of our line up!

Tipi’s for hire

Bath and Bristol Tipi Hire is a small family run business who offer the finest Native American Indian Tipi’s in the south-west. The Tipis range from 14ft to 23ft

Tipi’s are supplied with groundsheet, matting, colourful rugs, tea light lanterns and a firedish complete with fire wood

Blue Bell Tents come in two sizes (sleeping either 2 or 4 people) and are a more salubrious way to camp at Winterwell this year. Their simple, natural design means they’re flooded with light, and spacious enough to make a festival home inside. The tents come with REAL mattresses and bed frames, cosy bedding and pure cotton bed linen with Indian block throw bed covers, magical lighting, coco matting floors, mirrors, clothes hooks and shelves.

Shiatsu Massage: Shiatsu is a Japanese word meaning ‘finger pressure’. The treatment uses the Traditional Chinese Medicine meridian system and is done through the clothing and can be received on a massage chair or on a futon. It involves a deeply relaxing technique using acupressure, gentle stretches and rotations of the joints. Great for rebalancing the system and removing tension.

Five Element Aromatherapy: This is an oil based, full body massage using medium to light pressure. Using Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory the practitioner creates a bespoke blend of Essential Oils, tailored to meet each receivers individual needs. The oils are slowing absorbed into the skin bringing nourishment to the body and mind.

Deep Tissue Massage: Full body oil massage using strong pressure to work on and ease the deeper muscles in the body. Fantastic for removing any aches or tension.

Head and/or Foot Massage: This can be done with oils or with acupressure. The choice is yours. It’s a good, strong massage to rejuvenate the body and mind. Ideal for removing mental and physical stresses and strains.

Skin consultation: Aromatherapy skincare and remedies to try, some to buy and some made bespoke on the day.  Book a session with Natalie to discuss your skincare needs, you will have your own skin products and routine created to fit in with your lifestyle and budget. Skin consultations £30 includes two 10ml products designed of your choice.

Fancy Dress Parade and The Lifetime Golden Ticket Award

It would not be Winterwell with out the famous Saturday evening’s fancy dress up.  Every year we reward the 10 best fancy dress outfits but this is the first year we are introducing a truly massive award for the first prize ‘The Lifetime Golden Ticket Award!’ This award means a free ticket to every Winterwell Festival FOREVER….yes FOREVER and a chance to go down in Winterwell history.

The top ten best fancy dress outfits will be picked buy our panel of judges and official adjudicators The MOFO (The Ministry of Fancy Outfits).  All 10 will win a bottle of champagne but The Lifetime Golden Ticket Award will go to the singular best-fancy-dressed person at the festival or the team captain of the best-fancy dressed group.

Remember the theme is a Town Called Winterwell and we are not just playing Cowboys and Indians so – get your thinking Stetsons on and good luck!

Food Glorious Food!

We are excited to announce Pizza Tabun who will be setting up a home from home in our campsite, with a lovely seated area decorated in a Bedouin style with colourful rugs and low tables – kick back with a pizza and over look the festival site – oh and have a cup of tea or coffee in a real mug!

On the festival site: We love pies – back by popular demand pie minister will be serving their delicious pies and mash for you all.  And new to this year Wrappers Delight are offering fresh, tasty and wholesome toasted wraps and serving you up delicious breakfast every morning.
We wouldn’t leave you without a fulfillment of all things sweet so Westonbrit Ice Cream will be dishing out ice creams galore, milkshakes, coffee, cakes and don’t leave without trying their hot brownie sundae with ice cream and home made caramel sauce!

This year we also plan to have a sit-down, 3 course meal tent. We will let you know when we are ready to take reservations.
